Services
I offer the following services:
-
I offer comprehensive speech and language assessments tailored to your child’s needs. I use a combination of standardized tests and informal tools to build a well-rounded picture of your child’s communication strengths and challenges. Assessment results guide individualized therapy goals and next steps.
-
Therapy sessions are child-led and play-based, with a focus on building connection, confidence, and communication. I draw on neurodiversity-affirming practices to support each child in ways that respect their unique strengths and preferences. Parents are welcome and encouraged to be part of the process.
-
I offer coaching for parents and educators who want practical, individualized strategies to support a child's communication. Whether we're building routines at home or adjusting supports in the classroom, I work collaboratively to help adults feel confident and equipped to meet each child’s unique needs.
-
I offer consultative support to families, educators, and teams seeking guidance on how to best support a child’s communication. Whether you have questions about AAC, language development, or daily communication strategies, I’m here to collaborate and help you feel confident in your role.
-
I provide detailed reports that summarize assessment findings, therapy goals, and progress. Reports can be shared with schools, pediatricians, or used to support funding applications such as FSCD.
practice areas
I provide therapy in the following areas:
-
Many autistic children benefit from support that honours their need for sensory input and emotional regulation. I use a neurodiversity-affirming approach, which means I value all forms of communication and work collaboratively with families to support connection and confidence. Therapy may include sensory regulation strategies, AAC, gestalts, and parent coaching.
-
I support children who are learning to understand language. This includes following directions, understanding questions, learning basic concepts (e.g., colours, sizes, attributes, spatial concepts), and making sense of stories and conversations. I use play-based strategies and visuals to help children build comprehension in meaningful, engaging ways.
-
Expressive language is how a child communicates thoughts, needs, and ideas using words, signs, visuals, or a communication device. I help children expand their vocabulary, combine words, and use grammar to express themselves clearly and effectively.
-
If your child has difficulty saying certain sounds or is hard to understand, I can help them develop clearer speech. Therapy is tailored to your child’s developmental stage and learning style, and progress is supported through fun, motivating activities.
-
CAS is a motor planning difficulty that can make it hard for children to say sounds, syllables, and words clearly. I use evidence-based approaches to support motor learning, including lots of practice in a playful, pressure-free setting that encourages success and builds confidence.
-
I support children who stutter in building communication confidence. Therapy may focus on reducing tension, increasing fluency, and developing strategies for smoother speech — always in a way that’s positive, affirming, and child-centered.
-
For children who speak comfortably in some settings but not others, I offer gentle, step-by-step support. Therapy focuses on reducing anxiety and increasing communication in a safe, trusting environment, with a strong focus on parent involvement and collaboration with other caregivers or educators.
-
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. I support children who are non-speaking or minimally speaking by introducing and modeling AAC tools such as speech-generating devices, picture symbols, and core boards. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and play-based, with a strong focus on caregiver coaching to ensure AAC is integrated into everyday routines. All forms of communication are valid—and every child deserves a voice.
